The main advantages of Facebook Business Manager are the ease of more efficient management of advertising campaigns, optimizing your time and effort.

The most striking thing about this is that there are still many entrepreneurs who are unaware of the potential of this tool created to make our lives easier. That's why it's a shame that Facebook's Business Manager remains a great unknown.

To prevent this from happening, you can read the configuration guide for this Facebook tool below, with data and information updated to 2022.

What is Facebook Business Manager?

Facebook Business Manager is a tool created by Facebook to more effectively manage the branding of your online store and your brand presence on the world's most popular social network.

But let's delve a little deeper into the concept, because that's where you'll see its full potential: with Business Manager you can manage different advertising accounts, your company's pages and profiles on Facebook and control that all the people who collaborate with you work in a more optimal and efficient way .

This means that Facebook Business Manager allows you to manage in an integrated way:

  • Facebook Pages : If you have multiple Facebook Pages for your business—or for different clients—you can manage them all from one place.
  • Advertising accounts : If you run advertising campaigns for different brands or stores, it's most convenient to manage them all from one place.
  • Users : If there are multiple people working on the campaigns, you can give them access from the Facebook Business Manager and control what each person does, based on the permissions you assign them.

Main advantages of using Facebook Business Manager

The main strengths of this tool are the following:

  • It allows you to perform integrated management of several elements in one place : this makes things much easier, since you don't have to change users every time you want to do something different.
  • Provides extra security : Facebook Business Manager provides more security and prevents data and information loss. Your company will be safer if you use this tool.
  • Provides an overview : When you have to manage multiple pages or accounts, you sometimes lose the overview, which can lead to failures in your social media marketing strategy.
  • Present your data better : By grouping statistics and indicators from different sources, you can draw conclusions that will allow you to further improve your campaigns.

Who is Facebook Business Manager useful for?

This tool is not useful for all types of professional profiles.

In fact, if you are a freelancer who does not invest more than 100 or 200 euros a year in promoting a post on your personal profile, then you are not going to get much out of the Business Manager.

But if you have a somewhat larger structure, or work with many campaigns at once, this tool will become essential for you.

Anyway, just to be clear, we consider Facebook Business Manager to be particularly suitable for:

  • Work teams : with several members and different professional profiles.
  • Companies with several employees involved in creating advertising campaigns : companies that already have specific marketing departments need to manage their campaigns in an integrated manner and with a single tool, so as not to lose control of what is being done.
  • Marketing Agencies : Facebook Business Manager is the perfect tool for an agency that manages campaigns for multiple clients.
  • Traffickers working on several projects at once : More and more freelance professionals are managing their clients' advertising campaigns. Thanks to the Business Manager, the task is much simpler.
  • Marketing managers : To manage the work of a team, it is essential to have a single tool that gathers all the information and allows all employees to be coordinated. That is why Facebook Business Manager has become the go-to tool for many marketing managers.

How Facebook Business Manager Works

Remember that to create your Facebook Business Manager, the first thing you must do is enter your personal Facebook profile .

From your personal profile you can create your Business Manager account, using the same username and password as your personal profile or by adding a new email address and password.

If you want to do it faster, we recommend you do the following:

  • Click on this URL: https://business.facebook.com/overview
  • Click on Create Account .
  • Fill in your online store details.
  • Add your company's contact information.
  • Once you hit the submit button, you'll have created your Facebook Business Manager account. Easy, right?

How to add pages to Facebook Business Manager

Now that you know how to log in to Facebook Business Manager, it's time to start adding pages.

However, remember that this tool always requires you to include a Facebook home page , which is usually the one you use the most in your online store, the one that best represents your business or the one you want to be the pillar on which to build your own brand .

However, it may happen that you have a service business and also a page for your online store. In that case, you will have to decide which one you want to display as your primary page (although don't worry, you can change it later).

Add your homepage

Here's what you need to do to set up your main Facebook page, which is usually the one you use for your business profile:

  • Go to Business Settings and go to the Business Information option .
  • Select Edit your home page and choose which of the pages in your property will appear as the home page.
  • Click Save .

Add the rest of Facebook pages to Facebook Business Manager

Once you have the main page, it's easier to add the rest.

To do this, you must follow these steps:

  • In the nut that appears in the sidebar, select Business Settings .
  • Next, click on Business Assets . Inside you will find the Accounts submenu ; and within Accounts , the Pages option .
  • Click the drop-down menu, click Add , and then click Add a page .
  • The next step is to type the URL or name of the page you are going to add, and then click on the Add page option .
  • Once that's done, you'll have that page linked to your Business Manager.

How to add ad accounts to Facebook Business Ad Manager

In our opinion, one of the most important benefits of Facebook Business Ad Manager is being able to manage different advertising accounts for different projects or different clients from a single site . This will save you from having to log in again every time you want to do something in a different account.

To link your ad accounts to your Facebook Business Manager, you must do it in different ways, depending on your profile:

  • If you own an advertising account : you can add it in your Business Manager. But this will cause the account to be moved to the tool. An action that is irreversible. So think carefully before doing anything.
  • If you're working on someone else's ad account : In this case, you'll need to ask the admin of another Business Manager account to give you access to that ad account so you can work with it. The admin can revoke the permission when your work is finished.
  • If you have different projects : you can create a new advertising account in your own Facebook Business Manager. This option is ideal when you need several different accounts; but it is not feasible for everyone, since Facebook links the number of accounts to the spending profile. This means that to have two or three different accounts you have to make a minimum expenditure that is not within the reach of all entrepreneurs.

How to add people who need to log into your Facebook Business Manager account

Another common task in Facebook Business Ad Manager management is the inclusion of people who must execute tasks in one of the accounts that you manage .

On other occasions, you will be the one to request access to a specific client's account, if you are going to carry out advertising work with that Business Manager.

When you are the one who is going to add a new person, you must select one of these roles:

  • Employee : to carry out the tasks that you assign to him, but limiting his capacity for action.
  • Administrator : This role should be assigned only to people who will actually perform administration tasks, since they will have the same permissions as you.
  • Financial Analyst : This is an advanced financial role that allows a specific person to access financial data about the business, transactions carried out, invoices, budgets, expenses incurred and payment methods.
  • Financial Editor – This role has the same permissions as the Analyst, but can also edit (and view) the above information.

The procedure to add a person to your team in your Business Manager is as follows:

  • In Business Settings , go to People and click Add .
  • Enter the email address of the person you want to give permissions to.
  • Select the role you are going to give in your Business Manager.
  • When you click Next you will need to assign permissions for the tasks you want them to do.
  • Finally, click on Invite . This way, the person assigned will receive an email to be added to your Business Manager.

Alternatively, you can request access to a Facebook Business Manager account that is not yours. To do this, in the Accounts / Pages / Add menu you have the option Request access to a page . Once you do this, you will have to wait for the owner to accept your request.

How to add the Facebook pixel

The Facebook pixel is a tracking code that allows you to track your ad conversions and generate specific audiences . It is also essential if you want to do remarketing .

To configure this code from the Business Manager, you must follow these steps:

  • Click on Business Settings .
  • On the Data Sources menu , click Pixels .
  • Enter your pixel name and website URL.
  • Then you need to go to Set up pixel now and follow the instructions in Facebook Business Manager.
